Family time

Jacques and Nathalie decided to move to Mont-Saint-Hilaire to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They found a two-storey house on a big lot in a neighbourhood with plenty of mature trees. It’s the ideal spot to spend quality time with their family all year round!

Pre-renovations

The property they chose didn’t meet some of their criteria, including the size of the living areas, limited windows and bathroom finishes. Their renovation project involved expanding the kitchen, upgrading the heating system and replacing the exterior siding, and transformed their place from top to bottom. “It was important for us to have ample space to host our family,” explains the client.

A modern and functional layout

Work completed by a Verified Contractor from the RenoAssistance network had the desired result: a 450-square foot sophisticated and modern kitchen, with enhanced brightness from the cathedral ceiling, pale-toned floor and recessed lights. An 11-foot teal island presides over the room, flanked by several stools to double as an eating area. It boasts a double sink and generous food prep surface decked out in white quartz. The addition of several windows during the expansion offers an incredible view of the backyard and in-ground pool.

An impressive pantry was installed behind sliding doors, creating a discreet, easily accessible space to store non-perishables and small appliances - and also does double duty as a dividing wall. Cream-coloured cabinets reflect light, while bespoke storage, connecting the kitchen and living room, provides an elegant solution to maximize the main floor surface area. A perfect blend of efficiency and style!

Comfort on demand

The bathroom was transformed into an oasis of comfort and functionality. Its freestanding bathtub is the room’s pièce de résistance while the glass shower with attractive tile works well in this light-infused space. A wide vanity with lots of storage is big enough to keep everything tidy . A dedicated makeup station provides a quiet corner to get ready.
