A serious problem
Marjorie Savoie, owner of this charming house built in 1950 in Pointe-Claire, wanted to invest in the only bathroom on the main floor. The work for the small bathroom renovation needed to get started pronto because the room looked outdated but, more importantly, had a serious mould problem. Given the complexity of the situation, a Renovation Advisor quickly took charge of Mrs. Savoie’s project. Pre-renovations
This bathroom was quickly going downhill due to a major mould problem. Some demolition work launched the small bathroom renovation process. The toilet, original bathtub and vanity were removed. The contractor had to sand and disinfect the contaminated area and install moisture-resistant sheetrock drywall panels. Adequate ventilation was added and a new ceramic floor was put in. Lastly, the room was completely repainted white and accessorized with more modern fittings.
Post-renovations
A shower full of elegance
The owner is simply thrilled with her new bath-shower duo – a 59-inch white acrylic bathtub and a rain shower with hand-held combination for added convenience. The small bathroom renovation included a rectangular ribbed gray porcelain wall tiles add a sophisticated touch to the shower. A new frosted casement window lets light shine in while maintaining privacy in the room. A mirrored medicine cabinet hangs above a stunning vanity that includes a 24-inch Carrara marble countertop. Mrs. Savoie can now enjoy her bright and pristine bathroom.
