A successful transformation!
Nothing beats relaxing outside with good company, especially during the warmer weather. So, it’s no surprise that the Madon-Martineau family wanted to take back summer in a big way – with a terrace renovation! They hired one of our Verified Contractors to demolish their old patio and both map out and build a new three-tier wooden terrace.
The transformation is simply spectacular! The family now has almost 600 sq.ft. of space to lounge in, as well as designated areas for entertaining, relaxing, and storage.
Before renovation
If you look past the strange terrace layout and the peeling blue paint, you can see that this backyard was full of potential. The homeowners wanted a natural, durable material that brought warmth to the space and matched the rest of the house. They ended up choosing treated wood for its easy maintenance and installation, as well as its accessible price point.
The old terrace was demolished to make way for a new structure. The contractor took it apart plank by plank – everything from the stairs to the planters – and disposed of it accordingly.
After renovation
The clients were overjoyed by the final result! Here’s the review they left us after their wooden terrace renovation:
“The contractor referred by our Renovation Advisor was exceptional; everything was done as we requested. The team was respectful and cleaned up before they left. The schedule was met despite the inclement weather. I would highly recommend RenoAssistance’s consulting services to anyone. They make sure you find a quality Verified Contractor.”
A welcoming space ready for entertaining!
The space under the awning feels like a room of its own! Mrs. Madon and Mr. Martineau can now welcome friends and family there, regardless of the weather. The outdoor furniture only elevates the rest of the materials further, and the awning itself allows light to filter through to keep the space nice and airy.
As you look over the top tier, you can see three sets of stairs, a lovely trellis under each platform, railings (of course), and self-closing doors. No deck or balcony renovation would be complete without adequate lighting – when daylight starts to fade, strategically placed solar lights take over. They not only create a cozy ambiance but also make stairs safer to navigate.
Mrs. Madon and Mr. Martineau can now enjoy the seasons outdoors, from the comfort of their own backyard.
