The perfect addition

The Garand family hoped to complete their backyard with a brand-new shady oasis as the warm weather was approaching. This fibreglass balcony was the perfect addition for a convenient space to put their barbecue, extra storage underneath, and a solid awning to hide from the sun.

Our team of Verified Contractors built a 6′ by 10′ balcony with an aluminum ramp and six stairs adorned with solar lights. The family also wanted the space beneath the landing to be closed off so that it could be used to store winter tires, seasonal furniture, and accessories. Simple yet polished, the Garand’s project truly transformed the utility and look of their backyard.

Classic and eco-friendly style

Fibreglass is a great inexpensive material that provides many benefits. With several colours and models to choose from, this lightweight yet very sturdy material is reliable and low maintenance. It’s ideal for the outdoors and you get more bang for your buck!

The metal awning was installed to offer protection from the sun’s UV rays, heat, and harmful elements, making the family’s future barbecues a more enjoyable experience. In addition, awnings keep your home cool in the summer by stopping the harsh sunlight from coming in. There’s no need to blast the AC when it’s hot out: your new awning has got you covered! What more could you ask for?

Ambient lighting

Lastly, the solar-powered lights on the stairs were essential for evening parties. These bright lights illuminate the deck and create a warm ambiance for those chilly summer nights. Similar to the rest of the materials used, solar lights will last a long time, so there’s no need to fret about replacing them anytime soon. This simple feature gives this classic project a touch of modern style while keeping friends and family safe after dark.
