A basement that has it all

After purchasing their new home, this family wanted to make sure every inch of the property was ready for moving day. This meant the old basement had to go. This turnkey project involved some heavy lifting, starting with a demolition to create an open-concept design and revamping the ceilings and floors.

The goal of this renovation was to make it as welcoming and comfortable as possible. With that in mind, the space was divided into four separate sections: a living room area, a foyer, a dining area, and a small kitchen.

Equipped with an ergonomic design and a Verified Contractor, these owners were able to move in and start enjoying their basement to their hearts’ content.

A kitchen to accommodate

To make this basement stand out, the owners decided to add a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. If they want to entertain guests in an area separate from the rest of the house, they can do so while having everything they need at their fingertips.

Better yet, thanks to this addition, the basement can act as a separate living unit for guests to stay in when they’re visiting. With its warm lighting and wooden cabinets, this kitchen feels welcoming and in sync with the rest of the space.

A host’s dream basement

The worst thing for a basement is a design that feels claustrophobic with insufficient lighting. Thankfully, these homeowners made sure to prevent that from happening with an open-concept floor plan and many windows to ensure ample natural lighting.

If you were to descend the stairs and enter this basement, you’d be met with a refreshing scene. First, the beautiful gypsum ceiling makes the space feel luxurious and elevates the room’s aesthetic. Then, we move on to the large couch nestled in the corner, which creates an intimate space for movie nights. And finally, a dining table with comfortable and stylish seating makes this basement ready for every occasion.
