Frequently asked questions

What work is eligible for the Residential Adaptation Assistance Program (RAAP)?

Work that allows for the modification and adaptation of the home of a disabled person so that they can enter, exit, and have independent access to the areas essential to their daily life is eligible. The work must comprise simple and economical solutions and must be carried out by a contractor who possesses the appropriate license from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.

Who is eligible for RAAP?

Any person who is limited in the performance of their daily tasks due to a disability and whose file has been approved by a health professional, such as an occupational therapist. They must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and must not be eligible for financial assistance from the SAAQ or the CNEEST.

How do I enroll in the home adaptation program?

Once your needs have been identified, you can obtain the registration form for the home adaptation program from the Société d’habitation du Québec or from a CLSC. A specific order of steps imposed by the government must be followed in order for your request to be properly processed.
